How to Define Fashion

Fashion is something that is hard to define as it changes so fast. It is a combination of changing trends from all areas of society such as art, sports, clothing and media. The term is also used to describe the style of dressing and can range from haute couture (literally high sewing) to casual sweatpants. It is so ingrained in our culture that whole magazines are dedicated to it, TV shows devote hours of transmission time for fashion commentary and people talk about it all the time with their friends.

The most common way to describe fashion is by looking at it as a trend, or a series of short-term looks that are popular at one time. This can include clothes, shoes, accessories and even hairstyles. Often, a particular fashion will become so popular during its time that it becomes impossible to wear in any other era without looking dated or out of place. For example, low-rise jeans may have been the latest style of jeans to own a few years ago, but now they are considered extremely outdated and old-fashioned.

The best way to understand fashion is to observe how the people around you dress and follow the same pattern. This will help you find your own style and personality. It is also important to remember that fashion doesn’t necessarily mean following the latest trends. If you like a certain look and it suits you, then go for it!
